The 2015 Jury is complete!

We are once again proud and happy to present a competent and prestigious jury for the next Queen Sonja International Music Competition, which will take place in Oslo, 11-21 August this year.

The jury represents substantial competence and experience, with seven distinguished members of the international opera society. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the jury members to Oslo and to working together with them!

Sophie de Lint, Chair of the jury - Netherlands/Switzerland

Artistic Director of Zürich Opera. Multi-faceted artistic and administrative background from leading central European opera houses, not least the opera in Geneva. As a former artist manager Ms. De Lint has been particularly involved in discovering and developing young singing talents.

Jonathan Friend, USA

Artistic Administrator at the Metropolitan Opera since 1984. Responsible for the planning of future seasons and engaging singers and conductors. Has throughout his career held a central place in the world of opera.

Angelika Kirchschlager, Austria

Salzburg born mezzo soprano. Internationally acclaimed opera singer and recital artist with performances around the world. Kammersängerin of the Vienna State Opera. European Cultural Award and Grammy winner. Honorary Member of the London Royal Academy of Music. Teaches international masterclasses.

Dominique Meyer, Austria

Director Wiener Staatsoper. Currently on the board of directors of the European Music Theatre Academy (EMA) of the University of Vienna as well as of the Conservatoire National de Paris. Lecturer at the Institut für Theater-, Film und Medienwissenschaft at the University of Vienna.

Pål Christian Moe, Norway

Artistic adviser for The Norwegian National Opera. Extensive experience as artistic administrator and adviser. Head of casting for numerous opera houses, in Paris, Chicago, Munich and Glyndebourne. Former producer and Head of vocal department at Deutsche Grammophon.

Christoph Seuferle, Germany

Artistic Director Deutsche Oper Berlin. Has previously held leading positions at prestigeous opera houses like Montpellier National Opera, Opera National de Paris, Bavarian State Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Maggio Musicale/Florence, Chorégies d’Orange and Bavarian State Opera, Munich.

Bo Skovhus, Denmark

Baritone singer whose career began in 1988 at the Volksoper in Vienna. Closely associated with the Vienna State Opera the last ten years. Besides his performances in the major opera houses in Europe, America and Japan, Bo Skovhus devotes himself intensively to lied singing. Was in 2014 engaged as Professor of song at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
