​The dates for The Queen Sonja International Music Competition 2017 are now confirmed! From the 8th to the 18th of August, Oslo will again play host to some of the world’s most talented young singers as they compete for a place in the grand finale at the stunning Norwegian Opera & Ballet.

1st Prize: € 40.000
Concerts for 8 prize winners, November 2017:
- DR Concert Hall, Copenhagen
- Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow

Application deadline: 1st April 2017

Through exposure to an international jury of influential figures within the opera world, masterclasses with award-winning professionals, and considerable cash prizes, participation in The Queen Sonja International Music Competition offers young artists a valuable kick-start to their careers.

For the audience, the Competition provides the opportunity to discover opera’s rising stars through unique concert experiences. Our public masterclasses give a rare insight into the artistic process. Through live streaming and our partnership with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, it is possible to experience the nerves and excitement wherever you are.
