Record-high number of applicants

Published by Ane Wadd-Oseth

A sparkling bouquet of 304 singers from 50 nations have applied to take part in this year's Competition in Oslo, 13 - 23 August. Thank you for choosing The Queen Sonja International Music Competition as your career partner. For us, this is an honour and a privilege. We wish every one of you the very best of luck.

The Competition is experiencing considerable international attention, which is reflected in the large amount of applications and the many nations represented among our applicants. For us, it is inspiring to be able to act as a career partner for so many talented, young singers.

The Competition aims to help talents to a future career. The participants are, among other things, offered career guidance in our career development session with opera directors, casting directors, agents and PR expertise. QSIMC prizewinners also achieve engagements at Norwegian and international music scenes.
